Hitch and Tongue Setup

AcrEase rough cut mowers use a standard farm clevis, a C-shaped coupler that Kunz says gives "excellent freedom of motion in all directions." On a UFORCE, slide a 2-inch receiver drawbar with a pin hole into the rear receiver and drop the clevis pin through it. Skip the ball: Kunz notes a ball hitch is restricted to 12 degrees of motion side to side and up and down. The tow bar can be set to pull directly behind or fully offset to the side of the tow vehicle.

For the finish cut line behind a UFORCE, Kunz pairs its finish cut mowers with the optional ATV tongue, which hitches to the tow vehicle's existing hitch with a provided clevis pin. We stock the UTV tongue assembly for the H40B and the UTV/ATV tongue assembly for the Pro60K. For Pro60B and Pro60KWE tongue setup, call 877-203-4939 and we will confirm the right configuration.

Rough Cut or Finish Cut

Rough cut (MR44 and MR55 series) is for overgrown fields, pastures, trails, food plots, and light brush. Kunz builds them with 10-gauge decks, two blades, and a belt drive, with a conservative 2-inch sapling rating. Finish cut (H40B and Pro60 series) is for maintained grass where cut quality matters, such as large lawns, parks, and the acres around the house. Kunz puts rough cut mowing speed at 4 to 10 MPH and finish cut at 6 to 10 MPH in normal conditions. Full comparison on the Rough Cut & Finish Cut Mowers page.

CFMOTO UFORCE Notes

  • Low range: CFMOTO lists a CVT with P/R/N/H/L on every current UFORCE. Low range makes a steady mowing pace easier to hold in heavy growth.
  • Drive modes: Check your owner's manual for how your UFORCE's 2WD/4WD and differential lock settings behave, and avoid locked differentials on maintained grass when you can; a locked axle scuffs turf in tight turns.
  • Slopes: Kunz rates Kohler and Briggs & Stratton Commercial Turf engines for slopes up to 25 degrees, and says Briggs & Stratton Professional and Intek engines should not run on angles over 20 degrees for any length of time. Kunz also notes most tow vehicles become unstable after 20 to 25 degrees.
  • Useful add-ons: the 44" and 57" electric lift kits raise and lower the deck from the driver's seat, the wetlands kit is built for marshy ground, and the hour/tach meter keeps maintenance on schedule.
  • Outfitting the whole machine: browse CFMOTO UTV accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a CFMOTO UFORCE pull a 57 inch rough cut mower?

Yes. Kunz lists the 57" MR55 series at 580 lbs. CFMOTO rates the UFORCE 600 and 800 XL to tow 1,500 lbs and the UFORCE 1000, 1000 XL, and U10 PRO to tow 2,500 lbs.

Do I need a ball hitch?

No. AcrEase rough cut mowers use a farm clevis. Use a 2-inch receiver drawbar with a pin hole. Kunz notes a ball hitch limits the coupler to 12 degrees of motion.

Are AcrEase mowers PTO-driven?

No. Every AcrEase carries its own engine; the UFORCE only pulls it.

Which AcrEase is best for a UFORCE 600?

Any model is within the 600's 1,500 lb tow rating. The 44" MR44 series is the easier fit on tight trails and smaller properties.

Manual or electric clutch?

Electric clutch models engage the blades with a switch, so you can start mowing from the seat. Manual clutch models carry a lower price.
