What Is a Michelin X Tweel Turf?
The Michelin X Tweel Turf is an airless radial tire engineered as a direct bolt-on replacement for the standard pneumatic tire and wheel assembly on commercial zero-turn mowers. Unlike a conventional tire, the Tweel is a single integrated unit — the tire, wheel, and valve assembly are replaced by one component that requires no air pressure, no bead seating, and no flat tire repairs. Once bolted on, it simply works.
The Tweel's polyresin spoke structure carries the load and absorbs impacts the way a tire's air column would, creating suspension-like characteristics that improve ride comfort even when navigating curbs, ruts, and uneven terrain. The tread pattern is optimized for turf protection, providing excellent traction without damaging grass. At equal tread depth, Michelin Tweels last 2 to 3 times longer than standard pneumatic tires.
Michelin Tweel Compatibility — Major Mower Brands
Michelin Tweels are verified-compatible with virtually every major commercial zero-turn mower brand. Compatibility depends on tire size, bolt pattern, and hub offset — not just the brand name. Here is a summary of the most common fitments:
John Deere ZTrak Mowers
John Deere ZTrak Z500, Z700, and Z900 series mowers with 24-inch rear tires use MSPN 50357. Quik-Trak stand-on models and select rotary mowers use the 18x8.5N10 size (MSPN 78245 or 01133).
Toro Z Master and GrandStand
Toro Z Master 3000, 5000, 6000, and 7000 series use MSPN 77185 or MSPN 50357 depending on model year and deck width. The GrandStand 48", 52", and 60" stand-on mowers use the 18x8.5N10 size (MSPN 78245). The Z Master 2000 series uses MSPN 77185 with a -2.2" offset.
Scag Zero-Turn Mowers
Scag Cheetah, Tiger Cat II, Turf Tiger II, Patriot, V-Ride II, and Freedom Z models are compatible with Michelin Tweels. Rear fitments range from MSPN 77185 (most Patriot, Tiger Cat II, and V-Ride II models) to MSPN 08755 and 47623 for heavier Turf Tiger II configurations. Scag does not publish its own branded Tweel part number — order by Michelin MSPN using the fitment guide.
Exmark Lazer Z and Radius Series
Exmark Lazer Z E, S, and X series use MSPN 50357 for 24-inch fitments. The Radius E, S, and X series typically use MSPN 37968 (22x11N12). Navigator and Vertex S models use MSPN 78245. Exmark does not maintain its own Tweel SKU — use Michelin MSPNs directly.
Bad Boy Mowers
Bad Boy Mowers Rebel and Maverick HD models use a 24x12N12 5-bolt Tweel (MSPN 54411). The Renegade and Rogue use the 26x12N12 XL (MSPN 25913). The ZT Elite uses the 22x11N12 (MSPN 37968). Front casters are available in the 13x6.5N6 grooved caster (MSPN 73818).
Ferris, Kubota, Hustler, and Gravely
Ferris ISX3300 models use the 26x12N12 XL Tweel (MSPN 25913). Kubota ZD1200 and ZD1500 series zero-turn mowers use 18x8.5N10 or 22x11N12 fitments depending on configuration. Hustler Super Z and Raptor models typically use MSPN 47623 or 77185. Gravely Pro-Turn and Pro-Turn EV models use MSPN 01133 or 50357.
How to Choose the Right Michelin Tweel
The single most important measurement is offset, not tire size. Two Tweels can be the same diameter and width but have different offsets that will change hub height, deck clearance, and steering behavior. To measure offset: remove your existing wheel, measure from the wheel's mounting face to the centerline of the tire. A negative offset means the mounting face is outboard of center.

Michelin Tweel vs. Pneumatic Tires
The operational case for Tweels is straightforward for commercial operations: flat tires cost time and money. A single flat tire mid-job can mean an hour of lost productivity — hauling equipment back, changing a tire, returning to site. At a commercial rate of $60–$80 per hour, a Tweel pays for itself after preventing just a handful of flats. The 2–3× wear life advantage further improves the economics over a multi-season operating period.
Tweels also eliminate the variability that comes with tire pressure fluctuations. Pneumatic tires naturally lose pressure with temperature changes, and an under-inflated rear tire raises the mower deck on that side, producing an uneven cut. Tweels maintain consistent hub height regardless of load or temperature, resulting in a more uniform finish.
